Masaki Kobayashi ( Kobayashi Masaki, February 14, 1916–October 4, 1996)

All too often great events that are expected occur

But are unseen and unheard in subtly passes in this world

Naked and raw as expression of our true selves

Only to be remembered forever like the sun and moon

In divine grace, a divine wind, of divine harmony

Of surf, and sun, and blood and flesh

Of gentle soul and brutal fist

Reflections of greatness humbled by greatness

That which takes a life time to find and understand

But which is finally remembered and learned of

Because the sword cuts so deep

Heads are severed without notice

By honorable men amidst traitors and their treason
